Meet Chef Barbara Lynch and Extra Crispy Editor Kat Kinsman at Blue Bicycle Books this Saturday

When it comes to major players in the national food scene, you don't get much bigger than Barbara Lynch and Kat Kinsman. One has shaped modern food and the other has defined it and together they're going to both be at Blue Bicycle this Saturday talking about their books while in town for Randi Weinstein's FAB Conference.

Home Team PR owner Angel Postell will emcee a discussion with the two that will focus on their respective books and careers. Kinsman recently published Hi, Anxiety: Life with a Bad Case of Nerves (Dey Street Books, hb., 240 pp., $26) while Lynch — who owns seven restaurants, including No. 9 Park, B&G Oysters, Drink, Sportello, and Menton — will discuss her new memoir, Out of Line (Atria Books, hb., 240 pp., $26).

"Out of Line describes Lynch’s remarkable process of self-invention, including her encounters with colorful characters of the food world, and vividly evokes the magic of creation in the kitchen," explains a post on Blue Bicycle Books' website. "Through her story, Lynch explores how the past—both what we strive to escape from and what we remain true to — can strengthen and expand who we are."

Hi, Anxiety on the other hand, is Kinsman's examination of how people — specifically women — deal with anxiety.

The discussion begins at 5 p.m. on Sat. June 10 and is open to the public.
