The beer is flowing. The pizza ovens are ready to go. The front doors are unlocked with only "Coming Soon" signs to ward off passersby. In fact, except for some red tape and prep time, Frothy Beard 2.0 in West Ashley is ready to go.

When it opens, Frothy Beard Brewing Company's new West Ashley brewery will have more than 20 beers on tap and room for hundreds inside its spacious tasting room and on its outdoor beer garden-style patio. Frothy co-owner Wesley Donehue says the new space in the Ashley Landing shopping center at 1401 Sam Rittenberg Blvd. could be the largest indoor tap room in the area. The space is also the new home of Zombie Bob's Pizza, the venerable jumbo slice truck that's been on hiatus for some time.

As of today, Donehue says that Frothy is expecting some of its final inspections on Thursday. After that, you can look forward to Holy Water Belgian saison, Andale, Cucumber Thyme, and more very soon.

Frothy moves to West Ashley from its facility off Ashley Phosphate Road in North Charleston. The new brewhouse offers a 10 barrel capacity, up from a three barrel system at its former home. Joey Siconolfi, a head brewer at Frothy, says there's room to grow: Cooling lines are already installed for larger fermenting tanks; Frothy 2.0's new storage cooler is as big as Frothy 1.0's entire brewery; and the guys have already penciled in where they'll install their forthcoming packaging line.

Frothy's opening is also a comeback for Ryan Dedrickson of Zombie Bob's Pizza. After sustaining a significant electrical shock during prep for the Be More Tea Festival in North Charleston in 2015, Dedrickson says he's now fully recovered. Inside Frothy, Dedrickson has upgraded to a full kitchen with multiple pizza ovens and has been feeding a new sourdough starter using Frothy Beard's Back from the Dead porter. Stopping by for an early look on Wednesday, we managed to grab a slice off the very first pizza Dedrickson served up for staff. The new formula is a worthy companion to soak up Frothy's brews with its pliable crust ably handling Zombie Bob's light homemade sauce, mozz, and crispy mini 'cup and char' pepperoni.

Expect more news about finalized hours, events, and more once Frothy 2.0 opens very soon.
