The NFL season starts tonight — here's where to watch in Charleston

Smells like team spirit

South Carolina doesn't have a professional football team in-state (according to helpful reader Cheyenne, the Panthers became the team of both Carolinas in 1995) but that doesn't mean the Lowcountry isn't chock full of NFL fans. And they come from all over — have y'all ever seen how the Buffalo Bills crowd packs Charleston Beer Works? Charleston fans are true twelfth men (and women), flocking to bars every Thursday, Sunday, and Monday to watch guys slam each other into oblivion. Here's where to watch your team.

The Cleveland Browns congregate at Sparians bowling alley, which means you can play a game while watching a game — which is awesome.

You can catch the Pittsburgh Steelers at Steel City Pizza or any King Street Grille location.

The Redskins last won the Super Bowl the year one particular editorial assistant was born — 24 years ago. She still believes in them. Catch the one-day-to-be-renamed team at Charleston Beer Works, Kickin' Chicken downtown, or King Street Public House.

HAILing from the same neck of the woods, the Ravens also find a home at Charleston Beer Works. You can find them at Boone's bar too.

Rounding out Charleston Beer Works' mid-Atlantic roster are the Buffalo Bills. We don't understand it but love it all the same.

Head to D.D. Pecker's to catch the Eagles.

The San Francisco 49ers play on the TVs at Halls Chophouse — the owners are fans.

Liberty Tap Room and Cutty's are home to the 2015 Super Bowl losers, the Seattle Seahawks. But hey, they lost to the proud members of Deflate-Gate, so maybe we won't hold it against them.

Speaking of, the New England Patriots also call Beer Works home.

Catch the Raiders at King Street Public House.

The Panthers, South Carolina's closest NFL team — if we're talking stadiums, we know we claim the team too — can be found at the Tin Roof, Local 616, and the Carolina Ale House.

The Atlanta Falcons fly to The Roost Bar & Grill where the fan club has reserved seating and perks during games. Ca-Caw!

Chicago-themed bar Mac's Place is home to the Chicago Cubs.

James Island's O'Brion's is home to the New York Jets. Play like a Jet?

If we’ve left someone out and you want us to add your team’s favorite spot, shoot an email to connelly@charlestoncitypaper.com to let us know where y’all party.
