We’re at peak soft-shell crab frenzy. Restaurants are updating their social media feeds with softie preparations faster than you can “Off with their heads!” (Because, you know, you have to guillotine those little crabbies.)

At any rate, the latest softie news is that FIG’s executive chef Jason Stanhope is hosting a Guest Chef Soft Shell Shindig at Le Creuset’s L’Atelier headquarters (116 Ripley Point). We got to enjoy Stanhope’s soft shell preparation last year, a pan sauteed version served with squash blossoms stuffed with pea purée, and the taste was the essence of spring. We suspect his Shindig offerings will be no different.

The event takes place Wed. April 22 from 6-8 p.m. Tickets are $50 and include multiple course tastings and wine pairings. To purchase tickets, click here
