Eat This Tonight: Restaurant Week reservation roundup

The first weekend of Charleston Restaurant Week has arrived and reservations are going fast. Hot seats like The Grocery are "nearly fully committed" tonight Chef Kevin Johnson tells us. But if you find yourself panicking, chill. We called a few restaurants to get the scoop on available openings tonight. 

Cypress is serving up  three courses for $40. You start with one of four appetizers: charcuterie, sweet and sour meatballs, lobster bisque, or baby greens and tomato salad. For the main course you can choose between ricotta gnocchi, pan fried trout, duo of pork, and the barbecue beef plate. And last, but not least dessert:  red velvet cream puffs or a peanut butter fudge duo. Cypress still has available reservations today for 6:30 p.m. and earlier or 8:15 p.m. and later. Tomorrow, their available reservations are for 6:15 p.m. and earlier or 9 p.m. and later.

Choose between three courses for $30 or four courses for $40 at The Granary. They also offer wine pairings with all of their courses for an additional $15 for three courses or $20 for four courses. They have plenty of reservations available today and tomorrow between 5 and 6 p.m. or 8:30 p.m. and on. For course one, diners can choose between charcuterie, Asian pear, fried rice, and scallops. Then head on to smoked duck, beef brisket, cioppino (crab, shrimp, clams, and mussels with White Thai lobster broth), or the farmer’s plate (a combination of carrot curry purée, green lentils, squash, zucchini, brussel sprouts, and candied pecans). And finish off the meal with their  house “snickers” bar or banana bread with bourbon ice cream.

Middleton Place Restaurant has around 15 available reservations for this evening and about 10 for tomorrow. If they begin to fill up, they will take later reservations for 9:30 p.m. or later. If you nab one, you can enjoy she crab soup, peach and beet salad, warm pimiento cheese, or guinea hen rillettes for an appetizer. Entrée selections of the grilled choice beef tenderloin, sustainable seafood dish, Ashley Farms chicken, or the vegetarian potluck. Ad finish the night off with a Huguenot torte, chocolate ice cream sandwich, or the peaches and cream panna cotta — all for $40.  

If you're in Mt. Pleasant, Langdon’s Restaurant and Wine Bar is offering three courses for $40. The appetizer selections are spinach, walnuts, cranberries, and local goat feta; the chef’s soup of the day; and sesame-seared ahi tuna. Entrees include risotto (with local shrimp, bay scallops, and lobster), wild mushroom tagliatelle, local market fish, and an ancho-rubbed NY strip. There are three dessert options: warm chocolate chip cookies, a choice of house-made gelatos and sorbets, and local peach panna cotta. Langdon’s is pretty booked for tonight and tomorrow, but they still have a few 8:30 p.m. spots both nights if you want to try and snag a reservation.

Indaco is serving up a three course meal for just $35 for Restaurant Week. For the first course, diners can choose between three options: corn sformato, bibb lettuce, or grouper. Black pepper tagliatelle, spit roasted half of a chicken, and summer vegetables make up the second course choices. And for the third course, try the toasted almond budino, or a trio of gelato or sorbeti. Indaco is looking pretty booked up between 6 and 9 p.m. tonight and tomorrow, but they have a few available reservations on the patio or inside before 5:45 p.m.

Only a few reservations remain available for tonight at The Atlantic Room. They have a three course for $40 Restaurant Week special as well and with white chocolate bread pudding or the butterscotch budino on the menu, you're going to want to save room for dessert. For starters, the options include a roasted beet and arugula salad, crispy shrimp, and crab rangoons. You can choose between a variety of main plates such as the vacca frita (marinated skirt steak with basil chimichurri, roasted fingerling potatoes, and Cuban black beans), the North Carolina rainbow trout, or the roasted poulet rouge (brandy soaked golden raisin and sourdough stuffing and asparagus). But call soon. Those seats will likely go quickly.
