Reconstruction at 213 East Bay Street delayed

Brick says it won't open by first of year

The Brick was supposed to reopen by the first of the year. But after a fire destroyed several businesses at 213 East Bay Street back in April, the rebuilding process has been slow going and that date is looking like wishful thinking.

Brick owner Matthew Quillen says they are experiencing construction delays, mainly due to the roof, which must be completely replaced before the building can be repaired inside.

A recent Facebook picture posted by Squeeze, another bar located in the same building, shows the limited progress that's been made since April.
