Capriccio says ciao after 16 years

And by ciao, we mean good-bye

Posted by Stephanie Barna on Mon, Nov 28, 2011 at 3:29 PM

Mt. Pleasant’s standby Italian restaurant, Capriccio, has closed. Run by the friendliest Frenchman you’d ever meet, Capriccio was opened by Jacques Bouguyon in 1995 on Chuck Dawley Boulevard and enjoyed years of loyal patronage from its regulars.

Bouguyon sent us a note to let us know about the closing: “We closed Capriccio on October 29, 2011 and wondered if you could possibly put a final note in the paper, that we are thankful for everyone’s support over the years. We had a great time meeting and serving all during our wonderful 16-year run.” He also thanked us for the "wonderful critiques" and "kind words" we've printed about them over the years.

Ciao, Capriccio. We know you’ll be missed.
