Late last month, the Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments hosted three separate public workshops to give citizens a chance to learn about and offer input in the proposed Lowcountry Rapid Transit project.

Though the in-person workshops have passed, there is a 24-hour online workshop you can participate in through Thurs. Feb. 28.

The online workshop begins with a presentation detailing the mechanics, features, history, and more about the proposed system.

The session provides participants with detailed information and accompanying images for visuals and examples of other similarly modeled transit systems from around the country.

Following the presentation, there is a dedicated section given for input about the project, as well as information on the next steps for the project.

Go to lowcountryrapidtransit.org for more information and participate in the online workshop.

Check the video here for a little intro on the project featuring poet laureate Marcus Amaker reading a new poem, "transformation / transportation."
