Mitchell Hill presents Lisa Shimko’s solo show, Bridge, opening this Fri. Oct. 19 from 5-9 p.m. After living in Charleston for 18 years and recently relocating to the Appalachian foothills of Greenville, S.C., Shimko contemplates the virtues of the bridge. Like her transition from the Lowcountry to the Upstate, transitions in life are symbolically represented by a bridge. In her latest works, Shimko explores what connects the gap between two separate points — allegorical bridges that unite the two inverses.

Bridge will be on display from Oct. 19 to Nov. 19, showcasing numerous works that challenge the existing psychology of the bridge. The opening reception includes drinks, bites, and conversation with the artist.
