Adam Gorlitsky to speak at this Friday's Creative Mornings Charleston talk on Equality

Tickets go live at 10 a.m.

Every month Creative Mornings Charleston (CMCHS) joins Creative Mornings chapters around the globe for a morning talk on a certain topic. It's cool, isn't it, to think about people all over the world sharing their thoughts on the same theme? Well, we think this month's talk is even cooler than usual because we're big fans of both the topic — Equality — and the speaker, local Adam Gorlitsky, the founder of I Got Legs. Tickets (which are always free, along with coffee and breakkie, FYI) for the 8 a.m. talk at the American Theater go live at 10 a.m. Snag them here.

If you've participated in a Cooper River Bridge Run or any other number of races in Charleston you've probably seen Gorlitsky, who, with the help of a ReWalk Robotic Exoskeleton, has been standing up and walking since 2015, after a decade of paralysis from a 2005 car accident. In 2016 Gorlitsky became the first paralyzed man to ever walk the Cooper River Bridge Run; the 6.2 mile race took him almost seven hours to complete.

In addition to making huge strides in his own life, Gorlitsky's foundation, I Got Legs, seeks to make walking "a right, not a privilege." The I Got Legs mission is to "reenable members of the disabled community and the towns and cities they live in." Learn more about I Got Legs at igotlegs.org.
