Way back in November of 2014, a referendum was passed to renovate 13 of the Charleston County Public Library’s facilities, and to build five new library branches in West Ashley, James Island, St.Paul’s/Hollywood, Mt. Pleasant, and at a new Cooper River Site. The construction projects are finally underway, with building and planning making great steps.

On March 6, there will be a community meeting held at 7 p.m. for members of the community to learn more about the project and the new, updated designs for the James Island branch. A presentation will be given by the architects working on the designs and planning, and a Q&A session will be held for people to ask the CCPL staff questions about the project developments.
