Theatre 99 has just launched a new comedy series called Give ’Em a Hand, a quarterly comedy show where 100 percent of proceeds go to a local charity. The first show, a mix of stand-up, improv, and sketch, will be held on Thurs. May 12 at 8 p.m. with proceeds from the $10 tickets going to One80 Place, a nonprofit that works to provide food and shelter to homeless women and families.

Co-artistic director of Theatre 99, Brandy Sullivan, says, “The Charleston area community has been very supportive of Theatre 99 over the years, so this is an effort to give back. Our goals are to the pack the house and bring awareness to the great non-profits charities that serve our community.”
