Enough Pie, the creative placemaking organization that’s hosted the mega-art events Awakening and Awakening II: Fieldwork has released a Call for Artists for Awakening III: Solstice. Artists of all kinds — visual artists, dancers, installation artists, etc. — are invited to submit proposals via Enough Pie’s website at enoughpie.org/solstice. The deadline is May 11.

While Awakening and Awakening II: Fieldwork were both held at 1600 Meeting, where Enough Pie has its office, Solstice will take place at the Dixie Furniture Warehouse parking lot at the corner of Huger and Hanover streets. Prospective participants are invited to a site visit and tour with Enough Pie staff Sat. May 2 and Sun. May 3 at 4 p.m.

While there’s no theme, per se, for this collaborative event, artists will have a common point to begin working from: the Portuguese graffiti artist Odeith will install a 3-D cornerstone mural on June 4-6, and over the next two weeks those artists who have been selected to be part of Solstice will put in their own works, spinning off of Odeith’s.

This is the first major event that new executive director Cathryn Zommer will oversee.

Lots more details, as well as the proposal submission form, are available on Enough Pie’s site
