Judging from the video we just watched (see it below), Five Guys Named Moe, a musical put on by Midtown Productions, is looking like one of this year’s most fun MOJA Festival attractions. The show features music by the jazz and rhythm and blues songwriter Louis Jordan, and has its six-person cast singing and dancing from start to finish.
The Five Guys cast includes Christian DuBoise, who played the title character in last year’s much-lauded The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity at PURE Theatre, and Andre Hinds, who played the homeless — and hilarious — fake astronaut in this summer’s The Practice Child at What If? Productions. Midtown has set up an Indiegogo page where you can contribute to the show.
