Spring Awakening invites audience on stage

If you’ve always wanted to be on a Broadway stage, you’ll finally get your chance in a few weeks — and you don’t even have to leave Charleston. The national tour of the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening is offering a limited number of on-stage seats during each show for $25. Performances are March 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center. 

Spring Awakening is based on the controversial 1891 Frank Wedekind play of the same name. Set in late-19th century Germany, it follows teenagers dealing with big issues like abortion, rape, and suicide. It features music by Duncan Sheik and lyrics by Steven Sater. See springawakening.com for more
