We’re a week into January already, and there are a limited number of Be a Tourist Passes available. Available for Charleston-area residents only, these passes get you into all those attractions you’ve been meaning to check out for years, but never quite got around to doing (or couldn’t muster spending the cash.) A single pass is $20, or get a family pass for four for $50.

37 attractions are included, like the plantations (Middleton Place, Drayton Hall, Magnolia), the Gibbes, Carolina Ice Palace (comes with skate rental), Charles Towne Landing, Charleston Tea Plantation, Patriots Point, Fort Sumter, and more. It also gives you discounts at local restaurants.

Don’t miss Kinsey Labberton’s funny City Paper cover story on being a TIYOT, published last January.

It’s the perfect way to fill up these dreary, boring January days, and see Charleston in a whole new light. I for one can’t wait to get out and get my tourist on this weekend.
