Shopping, shoes, wine. That list easily sounds like the answers to a Family Feud round about things women love, but it's also the theme of the the Wine, Women, & Shoes event on Sun. Oct. 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Daniel Island Club. Grab your girlfriends and indulge in a glass of wine, buy some shoes, shop in a central location featuring a dozen local boutiques, and hangout with your friends at the event that benefits the Florence Crittenton Program. The program provides healthcare, education, and counseling for young, pregnant women by offering refuge for single, low income, and homeless women by providing 24 hour in-home care, classes taught by certified teachers, and recreational and social activities so women can continue to learn, educate themselves, and become accomplished and successful.

Other WW&S events have raised over $15 million dollars for charities and has several dozen events scheduled across the country. Charleston WW&S benefit will include a marketplace that features items from Hampden Clothing, James, Charleston Shoe Company, Warren on King, Mission Yoga, and others. A runway show will feature local celebrities such as Terry Haas, Carolyn Murray, and Mary Norton. Account coordinator for Leap Frog Public Relations Hannah Danahey says, "100 percent of the ticket proceeds go directly to the Florence Crittenton Program," says Danahey.

This is the first time WW&S will host an event raising money for FCP, but the plan is to make it an annual event. Tickets are $100, and VIP tables for 6 are $1,000. To purchase tickets, visit Wine, Women, & Shoes website.
