Keep it low-key and local this Black Friday weekend

While some people just can’t resist the urge to wake up at ungodly hours and stand in line at big-box retailers on Black Friday, smart shoppers will try to keep it local. Here’s just a sampling of deals available to those who make a point of supporting local businesses during the holiday season. And you don’t even have to wake up early.

Dwelling is offering up to 75 percent off select inventory Friday and Saturday.

Stop by Charleston Cooks! on Black Friday for samples of pumpkin smoothies, mulled cider, and other local food products throughout the day. Shoppers will enjoy great buys and specials as well.

iHeart is offering 20 percent off everything Nov. 26-27 — look for new deliveries from TIbi, Bianca Coletti, Hype, and Chloe & Reese as well as jewelry and scarves.

Stella Nova’s Black Friday sale includes buy-one-get-one-free on some items, 30 percent off BareMinerals skincare, and a free gift card with the purchase of MBT shoes.

Mary Mojo Boutique is also offering 20 percent off storewide, with complimentary gift wrap, great gift items, and new arrivals. They’re open Friday and Saturday.

Skip the crowds and visit Cavortress’ online vintage shop, which launches on Black Friday. Owner Julie Wheat has hundreds of items for sale, most priced below $100. Shipping is free in the U.S.

House of Sage is offering 30 percent off all men’s T-shirts and women’s denim on Friday. Everything in the store is 15 percent off Friday through Sunday.

At Bashful Boutique in Avondale, stop by on Friday for 25 percent off your purchases, and 10 percent off any sale items.

At Willy Jay’s, all denim (excluding jeggings) is 25 percent off. Lots of dresses, tops, and skirts are between 25-75 percent off.

Stationery designer Dodeline is offering 15 percent off all purchases on Black Friday with a coupon code you can enter on her Etsy site.

Head to the Joe on Tuesday for a Post-Black Friday sale, offering “slashed rates on everything imaginable.” Plus, the RiverDogs will unveil their holiday gift cards.
