Sweet 185 hosts grand re-opening on Upper King

Hit the sweet spot

If you’ve got a sweet spot for holistic massage, smooth skin, and perhaps a stylish accessory or two, then here’s a sweet spot for you: Sweet 185, Charleston’s own body sugaring and massage studio and organic boutique. Their specialty is body sugaring, which is a healthy and environmentally-friendly alternative to the painful experience of waxing. The paste they use, made of sugar, water, and lemon, is applied by hand and gently removes hair and dead skin cells. They’ve also got a full menu of massage packages, fashionable and comfy clothing and accessories, and a lot of skin care products, too.

Sweet 185 recently relocated from their Cannon Street digs to the Upper King Design District. To celebrate, they’re throwing a grand re-opening party on Thursday, Sept. 10 from 4-8 p.m. They’ll have treats, giveaways, demonstrations, tours, and more. The new pad is located at 476 King St. and they’ll even validate your parking (don’t forget the ticket stub) if you park in the Visitors Center Garage at 63 Mary St., right behind the studio.

$90 for eyebrows and full bikini!? Screw you Sweet 185. I miss Danielle, at least she used to discount. Don't you people know we're still in a recession?! Its not just college students that need a discount, some of us don't still have mommy and daddy paying for our bikini waxes. Get over your pretentious selves and go buy a bag of sugar at Costco....it's quite cheap there. In the meantime, stop ripping off your clients!

I totally agree. And what's up with the groupon that they did in September being only for new clients??!? Don't you want to allow current clients to get the deal - they are what keeps sweet 185 going. Kind of poor customer service, eh??
