It seems as if Charleston has more deals than fireworks this Fourth of July, but we're not complaining. Cynthia Rowley has Lowcountry fashionistas covered with their Pre-Fourth fete on Thursday, July 2. Join them between 5:30 and 8 p.m. (yes, ladies, that means the store will be open a full hour later) for some sweet deals and cocktails — what a way to celebrate your independence. There will be Firefly Sweet Tea cocktails on hand and a number of items from their spring line are still on sale.
No word yet on if there will be extra discounts, but our fingers are crossed. To all those ladies who pick up the perfect dress for their Fourth of July picnic, making a purchase during the party enters you in a raffle to win one of the sweet Cynthia Rowley beach cruisers on display. And who could resist sparklers?
Let your inner patriot out by dancing to the rhythm of a DJ with those delightful fiery sticks. Fashion, Firefly, free bike, and handheld fire? Sounds like there's something for everyone (except maybe you menfolk).
To RSVP or just to get some more information, stop by the Cynthia Rowley boutique at 341 King St. or give them a call (843) 577-8013.
This weekend two high-end King Street boutiques, K. Morgan and Eden Boheme, are holding great sales to keep your wallet padded and your wardrobe chic.
Located at 225 King, K. Morgan is offering up a great deal: 40-70 percent off during their summer sale. Featured designers include Tufi Duek, Deibe Rondon, and What Comes Around Goes Around. For a short time, they'll also be taking 20 percent off all accessories as well as featuring new designer threads from Julie Brown and Kay Unger.
Just up the street at 194 King, Eden Boheme can dress you up with the perfect clutch, tote, or hobo, all for 10 percent off. For this weekend only, their Candace Romeo and Glenda Geis bags will be marked down, so dont miss your shot at the fine Italian and Argentinean leather, or vintage fabrics purses at discounted prices.
Biton is hosting a fashion show this Fri., June 19, with the theme Hot Summer Nights. Beginning at 8 p.m. and lasting just about 20 minutes, the show will showcase summer styles from many of the shop's favorite designers — stuff like True Religion and William Rast Jeans, T-Bags, Sky dresses, and Black Halo.
According to shop management, Biton is all about comfort this summer, with a rock 'n' roll flair. (Sounds a lot like their show at Charleston Fashion Week, no?)
Attendees to this free event will enjoy complimentary cocktails and sushi from event sponsor Infuzions, plus 10 percent off any purchase they make.
Come Friday, Pop Up Shop will be a distant memory. Good thing we had a little warning to prepare us. The now-you-see-it-now-you-don't-style shop, featuring clothes, accessories, and art from local creatives, was based on similar concepts in larger cities.
Although they were slated to close on June 22, exactly one month after opening, Thursday will be their last day. According to @PopUpShop's Twitter account, "Last day was supposed to be Monday-but due to the fact that Charleston is a ghosttown we are closing. Ergo..." Too sad.
But alas, it's not all bad news. They're having an impromptu closing sale on Thurs. June 18 from 5-8 p.m., featuring 20-40 percent off Julie Wheat, Proud Mary, Clewis Reid, Theodosia, and Carter Humphrey. BYO-WYW (whatever you want).
Tucked between downtown's city style and the beachy digs of Charleston’s waterways comes a brand new boutique called Pearl. Owners Allison Gilchrist and Melissa Rigsby opened this high-end fashion haven in May and they're looking to bring a bevy of fresh styles and designers to Charleston’s shoppers. The store, which dons a sparse and neutral interior, hangs far from ordinary threads on its delicate clothing racks. Among the famous U.S., U.K., and Australian designers you’ll find here are Jason Wu, doo.ri, Mischen, Megan Park, Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti, and Anya Hindmarch.
While trying on these featured names you may find yourself housed in one of your childhood fantasies as you're whisked into a Little Mermaid-esque world of shiny pearls and bubbly effervescence. This is not to say the store is child-like, though, rather on the contrary. Pearl pampers its clientele and exudes sophistication and class in every effect from their tailored day wear to elegant evening wear, plus accessories and handbags. The knowledgeable staff offers services including closet consulting, private shopping, local deliveries, complimentary tailoring, and even house calls. The store is open Mon.-Sat., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and is located at 453 West Coleman Blvd. right by Shem Creek.
