Whether you've already gotten the chance to stop by Pop Up Shop or you're a first-timer, Saturday is a great day to stop by. Live mannequins will be modeling in the store front windows from 12-6 p.m. The City Paper (Scene writer Angela Hanyak), Charleston Ballet Company, Charleston Power Yoga, Charleston Fashion Week, the Digitel, Stella Nova, the Lowcountry Highrollers, and others will all have people out repping, wearing clothes from shop participants like Lindsey Carter, Clewis Reid, and Library. Refreshments such as Yankee and Rebel Punch will be served in the store during the happenings as designers invite passersby to pop in and shop. DJ Jaz will be spinning early in the day.
Mt. Pleasant is becoming a little haven for bargain shoppers. A new consignment shop has joined the ranks, and Trading Places Consignment Store is hosting their grand opening this Saturday. Also enjoy hors d'oeuvres while you shop around. A special tent sale takes place from 7 a.m.- 2 p.m. All customers will receive a 20 percent off any purchase from May 30-June 6 as an open house special. Trading Places is located at 423 Coleman Boulevard in the Peach Orchard Plaza. For more information call (843) 388-2312.

Whether you've shopped at the Suite Sole store or you're just into your kicks, anyone with a sneaker affinity should stop by the launch party for their new webstore. Happening Sat., May 30 from 7-10 p.m. at Suite Sole at 47 1/2 Spring St., the party promises to be as poppin' as events they've hosted in the past, with an added bonus — there will be doughnuts. DJ Belk will be spinning hip-hop for your enjoyment. The pre-party is at Eye Level Art to get things started, and the post-party will be at Shine to keep it going in style.
Mt. Pleasant boutique Luxe announced today that they're closing. In a Facebook message to fans, owner Amber Barron said, "It is with a deep and saddened heart I have to email you today to inform you all of our store closing. With the summer season upon us and still no increase in sales, we find ourselves closing our doors. You all know how much this store was my passion. To see it end like this is my worst nightmare. Thank you all for you love and support." But alas, their loss is your gain. They've got 30-40 percent off everything in the store, $5 flip-flops, buy-two-get-one-free items, and more. Check them out at 652 Coleman Blvd.
A few new stores are popping up on King Street in the next few weeks. Jayne, opening on May 27 at the old Pete Banis location, features designer clothing with some intense discounts — we're talking 70-80 percent off. We also caught sight of a new olive oil shop coming in a little further down King. No word yet on when it opens, but we'll keep our ears open for all you cooking aficionados. Newly opened this week is Eden Boheme at 194 King Street. Owners Lucinda Race and Anna Lassiter will feature their own lines in the future, but for now they have an impressive array of designs from France, New York, and Australia in the clothing and furniture boutique. Each line they carry is available in Charleston solely through the shop. In celebration of the arrival of Kathryn Amberleigh shoes, the store is serving champagne tomorrow from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. The space is tiny, but we had trouble finding anything in the store that we didn't love. The prices aren't outrageous, either. Not to say that this store is for those on a tight budget, but the Kathryn Amberleigh line came in mostly around $150. Stop in for the champagne and we can almost guarantee you won't leave empty handed. —Moira Phillips
