Chucktown schools need more snuff

Posted on Thursday, June 25

Hate to tell you this but we Northern and Mid Westerners are here to stay. So get your acts together and your schools up to snuff because we won't take it. There is more to education than going to the University of South Carolina. While your at it you should be real proud that 60/70/80% of your children attending High School read at the 4th grade level. Don't forget the real USC is in Southern California.

Hey pal, why don't you learn proper grammar before posting your two cents on the web for everyone to read? For your information: the contraction "you're" would be the proper usage in your above statement, "While your at it.." So next time, try proofreading before you look like an ignorant fool. Just a thought.

if your so anti-SC schools then why the hell are you even considering moving here? seems to me your the one with a learning problem. Fucking idiot, take your broke ass back to where you came from. spoken from a true charlestonian! if you dont like the way things are, then go the fuck home!!!!! as for the "real USC' being in Cali, humm... as i recall history from what, the 3rd grade SC was founded in 1777 where california was founded some 72 years later in 1849. so by deductive reasoning USC (south carolina) was first! get your damn facts straight!!!

Give me a break. I have to second Whitney here, your grammar speaks volumes about how valid your opinion of education is.

The educational ratings in SC have mainly to do with two things: 1) a relatively high poverty rate, and 2) very, very difficult standardized tests compared with other states. Now *why* our tests are so hard is another question, but that's a fact. It was a fact with PACT, and is still a fact with PASS. And you can't extricate lower levels of educational achievement from lower levels of income, they are so statistically intertwined that you can't separate their effects.

Also, please, please don't move here.
