Yankee yokels bug local yokels

Posted on Monday, June 22

We don't want you here. This also applies to natives of: Connecticut, New York, etc. If I were really mean, I'd say Greenville/Spartanburg/Columbia too because, lets face it, you people moved here because your towns suck. James Island and Mt. Pleasant used to be rural and traffic free, for God's sakes! I bet you people can't even imagine that. Those days are long gone...and its so very sad. Thanks for adding to the crappy overdevelopment and ridiculous overpopulation and thanks for allowing us the sweet, sweet pleasure of listening to your god awful Northeastern/upstate yokel accents.

—Go back to Ohio!!!

This is a prime example of why only drunk people at the bar read this silly little news paper... well drunk people and people bored to tears at work.

Hey if the local government got off their asses and develop better infrastructure then maybe just maybe we would not have so much traffic... Now I can understand the annoying visitors and their not knowing how to drive there are also the "local yokels" that do not know how to drive... So if you do not like it ride a fucking bike and get off the fucking road... I do read the City Paper and I am not a drunk at a bar, bored to tears at work or any combination of the two...

Excuse me, but, I am proud to be a Yankee that has relocated here. Last time I checked, it's a free country buddy. Stop worrying about what everyone is doing and get a life of your own. Then maybe you won't be affected by the migration of people coming down to Charleston. You should feel lucky to live in a city that attracts so many people!
Do you really think that Charleston is the only city that has an increasing population of northerners? Don't you want to live in a city that grows and brings in new people and new ideas? Half of the businesses in town are run by people not from here which gives this small town a little hope for diversity. But then again, you people down here just love your "ways" and narrow minded thinking, huh?

How about this: I am a relocated, New Jersey Yankee and I couldn't be happier down here. I think what makes you "locals" so upset are the people that come down here expecting things to be the exact same as when they were living up North. Not all of us are like that and it irks me when y'all put every person not from South Carolina in the same category. There are obnoxious people from every region, don't compartmentalize us.

Enjoy it while it lasts, locals...someday in the future you will be migrating inland to avoid ocean rise...you'll get your chance to be the outsider then...maybe they'll be more accomodating than you've been to others...MAYBE!!!

Say what you will but the fact is that we Yankees already OWN you. More money goes towards aiding SC from "up North" than from anywhere else. Cry your little eyes out and dance your little Dixie pee-pee dance. We own you. And there's NOTHING you can do. Like General Sherman before us we are already in the process of burning your antiquated, myopic views to the ground. Instead of using an oil soaked torch we are using $100 bills. Shut up already and just be happy we let you live in "our" world.
