We love this place! The Cheesesteaks are fantastic.
Everything I have ever thought less of Charleston for has finally arrived. Thank goodness for these retro hippie amazingly creative individuals. I will never leave unless you don't stay. THEALLEY CHARLESTON
We love park pizza, and I have to get my Bradwell pizza fix once a month or bad things happen (fig preserves, turkey sausage, apples, walnuts, blue cheese, caramelized onions, nom nom nom). And every other pizza we've tried is delicious as well. And on top of that, the people that work there are super nice.
Heart is an amazing addition to JI! The food and drinks are incredible! Service is on par with a fine dining experience, everything is made to order...not cookie cutter!! Get the word out so HEART continues to stay on JI! We love it!!
Sometimes overly crowded. Doesn't stop me from going. Can't beat the champaign list.
Love the vibes at Lava. Also Larry can really cut some hair.
We tried this out a couple of weeks ago and found the pizza to be wonderful. It is a bit blackened on the edges, as the above reviewer said, but we also had pizza like that in Italy, so I'm wondering if it's more of a style issue than a technical issue. We also had the fries, which were fantastic, and the arrancini, which were outstanding.
Lava Salon is now located at 811-B Savannah Highway! Right next to Avondale Wine & Cheese....
Sadly, I can only review the customer service and the decor, not the food. I tried to eat at Heart on a recent Saturday and when I walked in it was busy, but not hectic and we were the only people waiting (just 2 of us, not a big party). No sign indicates whether to seat yourself, or wait to be seated. There was a young man behind the counter (within direct eyesight, and less than 6" away) but we were ignored by him for 2 minutes until he finally said in an off-handed, almost annoyed manner that he would help us "in a minute." TEN, minutes later he was still ignoring us despite still being behind the counter and still attending to other customers at the counter off and on. This young man pointedly avoided eye contact, and when one of us approached the counter again to pick up a menu to hopefully, and subtly, "remind" him that we were still waiting, he continued to refuse to make eye contact and turned his back without saying a word.
After 10 minutes of being ignored, we decided to leave and take our business elsewhere on JI and where we treated like we existed AND had a great lunch at another restaurant.
As for the decor, it's open and bright, if not a bit bare. The restaurant smells really good when you walk in, but as noted above, sadly I cannot attest to the food. The noise, however, is really loud, probably because there is nothing to absorb it in the concrete and cinderblock construction. Even without being seated I could barely hear anyone, even when 2 feet away from me.
I hope that I caught the Heart Woodfire Kitchen on a very, very bad day, because I like supporting local JI restaurants. However, I'm not sure that I would use my time giving this place a second chance when I know that I can go elsewhere and actually be acknowledged within 10 minutes of walking in. Sadly disappointed.
I'm usually a downtown guy, but I live in Summerville. I've always been skeptical of going to bars in my own area but I decided to give Montreax a try this past Friday night. I was surprised about how normal and young the clientele was, similar to being at a bar downtown. Had a few drinks which weren't expensive at all and had a great time with my friends. Definitely checking it out again.
Excellent store, covered most everything in working with beads.
This club sucks if for some reason the bouncer or the Asian mafia there doesn't
Like your look. I was there and only for maybe 15 or 30 min. In that time I met some great fun people. Then I needed to use the restroom which is down a sketchy hallway. As I left 2 thugs grabbed me ,beat me and broke my rib. For no apparent reason. I was leaving the next day or I would have pursued an assault charge. I am planning on calling the local police there. But I am thinking it won't go anywhere. You are warned.
BEER UNIVERSITY IS AWESOME!
Horrible service. Almost 1.5 hours for dinner. Every time is a long wait. Wish we had a better pub in West Ashley
Terrible company! I scheduled to have my two units delivered two weeks in advance and they did not show up on the scheduled date! I had movers all set up and I had to get out of the house I was renting. Needless to say this caused me a lot of problems. When the units did show up, one was leaking. All I ever got from Units was the run around. If there is ever a next time I would spend a little more and go with PODS!
I missed this shop so much when it was under a different name. Call me slow, but I just found out that Richard had reopened a sandwich shop again. (My grapevine is a little slow) It was great news to me. My lunch spot changed as soon as I heard Richard and Gloria were back making sandwiches. There are very few good sandwich shops in the area. This place more than fills the void! The Turkey Rasberry Chipolte or the Chicken buffalo wrap are my favorites.
It is great to have a small business that takes pride in their work. Food chains get boring. Richard's Coffee and More brings back a little spice to the Park Circle area. Be prepared for a local business supporting the local community with a smile and great food. Cheers Richard....Glad to have you and Gloria back! I will make sure to come through the doors more often!
Re: “Philly's Cheesesteaks”
Front door was filthy and if kitchen as dirty would never eat there again..
