Re: “Mark Sanford's victory is a triumph of ideology over decency

North and South Carolina, always trying to one-up each other. So as not to be outdone by North Carolina's resident dirtbag John Edwards, South Carolina responds with Mark Sanford.......Hopefully, Sanford will stay away from the "family values" issues that he used to go on and on about from now on. He's the last person who should be lecturing others on the correct way to live. Hey y'all lets all go on a celebratory "hike" on the Appalachian trail!

Re: “Mark Sanford's victory is a triumph of ideology over decency

ned is right, people like me are why obama won. people who care about others more than whether they can own two homes and a beamer. people who actually take time to learn the facts rather than accept whatever fox news or rush say. if one voted for the person and not the party, then ecb would have won.

Re: “Baz Luhrmann doesn't show enough respect for Jay Gatsby

An interesting critique, and I am leery of the misinterpretation that could ensue via the movie; however, let's not forget that Gatsby DOES reach for the green light, symbolically AND literally, at the end of chapter 1...."he stretched out his arms toward the dark water in a curious way, and, far as I was from him, I could have sworn he was trembling. Involuntarily I glanced seaward — and distinguished nothing except a single green light, minute and far away..." It would have been a mistake to have kept that iconic moment out of the movie.

Mark Sanford is a liar, a cheater, and a snake. If he would just learn how to be a thief, he would make a great President..... !!!!

Re: “A new Oyster Room holds promise on Folly Beach

Thanks Jaxx, yes, I was referring to bolobolo, never mentioned @brewengineer...not sure why he got hot and bothered...need a beer? And, yes, I agree, the RI oysters are smaller and more delicate in texture and flavor. And, the Oyster House serves these very frequently along with other oysters along the east coast - not just Gulf. We have never had a bad meal there and love the atmosphere and staff and will continue to go there!

Re: “Mark Sanford's victory is a triumph of ideology over decency

@dp4 - Why else did northern retirees move here? The weather, the lovely city with so much to do and it's not Florida. I am a retired Massachusetts native and taxes had nothing to do with my decision to move here.

Re: “Mark Sanford's victory is a triumph of ideology over decency

ECB was arrested for a child custody issue over 25 years ago. To compare that to Sanford's VERY RECENT mishaps/embarrasments is ridiculous.

Ned- you've got a lot of time on your hands you hardcore conservative you. Good lord man, you are on the comment board non-stop. Hopefully you're not at home leaching on our hard earned tax payer dollars and collecting your welfare check...

Re: “After a few rowdy years, crime-plagued Plan B nightclub closing

Great bar, until a couple years ago.
Security (and the interior layout) never
seemed up to par for the types of events
it hosted and the number of people jammed
inside at times. And, "Plan B"... hated the
name as soon as they took it on. TERRIBLE!

Re: “A new Oyster Room holds promise on Folly Beach

This review is totally backwards, I have been to the oyster room plenty of times since they have opened, and it just keeps getting better. Eric I am sure there will be alot of people disagreeing with you on this one...oh, and good thing the server reminded you how to count, after reading this article you probably do need help with it.

Re: “Mark Sanford's victory is a triumph of ideology over decency

Ned, with regards to your statement that "ECB...was arrested herself for terrible behavior," the difference is that Sanford's indiscretion happened on the taxpayer dime while he was in office. He abandoned his post as Governor. BIG distinction.
Bad behavior on your own time is one thing, on the state's is another.

Re: “Mark Sanford's victory is a triumph of ideology over decency

Wow. Before you start calling names. Get your facts. I did NOT vote for ECB. I wrote in a person I think should have won the primary. I campaigned and voted for Romney. I vote on principle and for the best person.
