I don't know if you'll read this but if you do a stranger from across the country sends you love and comfort. My dad has a brain tumor like yours. I'm so scared about what the future holds but your honesty, bravery and transparency through this has given me comfort. No words can express the grief I feel for you, and your daughter. I share in your pain. Much love and God bless.
Dwayne....I'm sorry you have to read this nonsense. So much negativeness. My son, who is a neurologist & a white american lived in the Charleston area for 6 years and now lives out of state. He followed this tragedy online. When we spoke the weekend after, we spoke about the words of forgiveness from the black clergy just hours after, their repeal of so called "activists" and the human chain formed across the Ravenel Bridge, his words were "That's Charleston and that's why it's such a special place"
Ben...pretty simple solution. But somehow no one in the N Chs community nor minority communities across our country are using this common sense attitude. Just listen to any large city police scanners and you will hear for yourself. The folks calling police for help are black reporting crimes committed by other black folks.
I do not know you. I do not consider you family, friend, lover or such. I do consider you someone I wish I knew. I do wish that whatever time you have left is spent smiling, laughing, kissing, hugging and thanking all those close to you who have lifted you up in someway. Tonight we added you to my son's prayer. He asked who you were-I said "The Princess's Mother". He said I wish I could have met her. I said "Me Too". Until we meet for the first time in Heaven-Please take care.

Mrs. Alison, I did not know you, but your words are so deeply moving. Your article speaks so plainly, yet it depicts the saga of human experience with such raw, tender, bittersweet emotion. The resolute dignity you show in the face of fear and desperation is so powerful, so inspiring - befitting of someone who has fought against the odds her whole life for her causes. Even this close to the end, you painstakingly fought against your sickness and wrote this article. It couldn't silence you; you are a beacon that will not waver, will not be bowed by even the adversity that ends you.
I hope your daughter can read this article and learn who you were as a person. I hope that through the stories of those that knew you, and through your archived work, she can grow up knowing and admiring her brave mother, even without you there. May she have your strength to get her through.
As a young woman, I thank you.
Duncan, thats some ignorant and racist stuff man. You are a hypocrite and racist. All right entitled to everyone under the same law. This problem has many interwoven traits of culteral stigma, discrimination and civil rights. But at the same time, there needs to be a better way for the BLM members to get their point accross rather than conduct themselves in the same loud and brash manner that some even in their own community would call "nig***ish." Simple minded people like Dunk'in Duncan should re-educate themselves of how we have arrived at this point. All Lives Matter.
If people would stop acting out and obey the law there would be no problems..
Well referring to the one on my wall, they are not all Caucasian on the current calendar. Maybe you should have bought one instead of complaining ImFromHere.
Allison: please email me. I can give you definite news on afterlife. firstname.lastname@example.org
Allison please, please don't give up. I've written a book title "Stress and Depression",The Real Culprits. Theory is all cancers comes from these, because they compromise the immune system greatly. They are not the same, but they work in harmony too overwhelm the system. Stress is a short term dilemma, and is subject to abate on it's,but if it doesn't, then depression sets in.This becomes the medium by which abnormal cells proliferate. Fear makes cancer cells grow. Long story short, there are things you can do.Laughter, touch, happiness produces a very powerful chemical that will put cancer in remission. Please, please lets try this. There is more too my theory, but space is limited. Just don't give up. Start walking and going places, where you see people doing funny things, just hang in there. Have the faith of a mustard seed in me. I'm a first time writer and the book is on hold, until I can find, preferable, someone who has won prizes that will lead them toward "The Noble Prize in Physiology and Medicine, like the Lasker Prize,Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences, Tang Prize, etc. I need someone to partner with me on making a medication I have in mind based on my theory noted above. A person who has won the award or someone on the edge of winning would be an ideal person. They would see my theory immediately once I explained it in detail. Mean while hang in there, don't give up.We can live much longer and happier than we are doing in our country. No one should be dying like we are,90-110 isn't no age. Good health and living long is a mind set. The Fins are dying like flies, because they suffer from depression. Darkness maybe a factor, but it doesn't have to be their coffin. Good luck in the endeavors pointed out too you.
Our paths just crossed. Heaven is holding a special place for you. Sending peace and love....
Thank you Alison.
I am so sorry for what you have gone through and are going through. I know. I truly know. Im just here to tell you that it will all be alright. You are loved.
You love and you made this earth a better place. All is ok. It is going to be ok. I believe that love never ends. It can not. Love is as real as our human bodies , it never ends, love is seen, felt and grows in ways that we can never fully understand.. Always. Peace.
Your story touched me; I admire your strength. A thought you expressed really stood out to me: "I don't presume to know what a next life would be like..." This prompted me to pray that you know God's forgiveness: Jesus, Who never sinned, took the punishment we deserve for our sins and gave His very life blood so that we could be forgiven and made right with God. God transferred to Him our sins, and He took the punishment for us as though He were the guilty one. The Bible says that Jesus (who had no sin of his own) became sin for us (who had no righteousness of our own) that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. When we repent of our sin – turn from our own way to God’s way, admitting to Him that we are sinners and need His forgiveness – God forgives us because Jesus paid our sin debt. God then makes us His child and views us as though we were as pure and right as Jesus Christ himself. Jesus’ righteousness is written down on our account, because our sins were written down on Jesus’ account. Because He did this, as a verse in the Bible says, we can be "absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."

There are many people who have made it back from the brink. I'm not affiliated in any way, just wishing you the best.
Oh no! I wonder if they will keep the Hay operation going.
Personally, I am proud of Muhiyidin d’Baha (sounds Gullah to me) for having the courage of his convictions, and the creative wisdom to form a symbolic "citizen's review board". Working through channels can be excruciating, sometimes even for simple matters. Hopefully, his reasonable actions will inspire the community safety measures that we all seek.
