Is it just me, or does this sound like it was written by Stefon? :-)
Local shrimp are not in season.
Is there a law that would allow us to revoke Thomas Ravenel's right to call himself a South Carolinian?
Thank you, Pronghorn, for the English lesson. For some reason, I have managed to get by for 65 years with the language skills I have, and have done quite well. If you are a college professor, which I have had about 100 of in my many years of going to college, then you probably fit in to the "boring" and "self-loving" class. Oh, and add "always correct" to that list. I have had a number of good ones, but a whole lot of those who could not do, so they taught.
"How do you just do what you want to do in life?" Still wondering this myself?
"...widen the gap between the poor and a middle class."
I. Don't. Even.
The "quaint charm" of Confederate flags and overtly racist pro-gun bumper stickers defaces the area's natural beauty. The stupidity behind them helps keep SC at the very bottom of the failing US educational system and helps widen the gap between the poor and a middle class.
I know the city of Charleston has reason to be dubious of Mr. Ravene's motives but forever holding a coke bust over his head is a bit unforgiving. The whole of politics is like this just with the caveat of do not get caught! That is all he is guilty of (yes, I know womanizing, etc). Yet his ideas are sound. Our privacy has been destroyed and our drug laws are ridiculous. Drugs will remain illegal as long as our intelligence agencies need to pay for black projects. You can say a lot of negative things about good ole Thomas but hypocrisy is not one of them.
"Ambiguously gay?" isn't that an oxymoron..
As to the lessons in grammar and punctuation, do you have to be a professional editor to express your opinion? I think not. Any clerk can do that. After all, this is not the New York Times.
Hyphen between "ultra" and "liberal".
No quotation marks around "tenure"; the same goes for "so called" (which should have a hyphen between the two words). In your context for "smarties", quotation marks are needed.
No comma after "very".
College of Knowledge
The BEST qualification for Glenn Mc. is that he is not tainted by years and years of academia. By listening to the stupid questions submitted by those ultra liberal professors, I am glad the man is not burdened by the idiotic rules of "tenure" and nausea that permeates the "so called" smarties that teach at the College of Charleston. What we need is someone who knows everybody, is known by everybody, and can raise funds and promote the C of C. Glenn can do this very, well, thank you.
Same good 4 reviews everywhere. Sure. I understand that one can't make everybody happy but I couldn't understand why 1st Choice, which is now not even an option for me, didn't answer the 100 calls we had to make to even find out why they wouldn't show up for work. Finally, after 2 weeks after the service start date quoted on the invoice, some people just came and ripped off all ducts, piled them in the back yard and disappeared in an hour and a half with half of the money for a complete airduct replacement. After 3 days without a working AC and no update as to what in the world they had been doing, I finally get somebody on the phone who started talking about how we should all blame it on the weather. All I want at this point is my money back. An HVAC specialist has already been contacted. And yes, it's "an", not "another" HVAC specialist.
But check this out:
Joe Wolfson is a hack, he stepped into a roll a few years ago built by a talented chef and he took all the credit. He knows, just ask him.
Could one suppose that Rep. Garry Smith has really never read the "Bible"; as it certainly contains more incest, murder, mayhem, adultery, and sex maxima than the books he found offense with. Or did his political grandstanding and the notoriety he gained from taking this action have more to do with it? You be the judge.
A wee bit o'funny before the holiday:
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I saw this band in 2000 on John Street...Was Great...Hope 2 c them again soon Frank and Marilyn Black Clinton Illinois
(Steph, that was directed at T-Rav, not you, btw).
Willett makes a 21-year old bourbon. Bourbon's grain bill is at least 51% corn, by definition. "Single malt" bourbon is not a thing exists, except to people are pretending to know what they're talking about.
(Big ups to CBWS for pointing this out on The Tweeter).
I thought $5.00 was a pretty cheap tip. I'm sure it was scripted just so they could get that Lincoln dig in. The restaurant was Morgan Creek Grill. Curious to see what their lunch prices are.
