Unfortunately, Sweet Ce-Ce's is around the corner from my office. I say unfortunately simply because it is almost a borderline addiction. Especially on Tuesdays when I get Double Points on my Sweet Rewards card! The flavors are amazing, non fat gluten free and many non sugar added as well. I like that I can check daily flavors on their facebook page too. The yogurt does not have a strong 'tang' taste to it - more like a custard, actually. The toppings are insane - I mean fresh chunks of cheesecake, Captain Crunch Cereal, Chocolate Covered Almonds...just gonzo stuff! The Pumpkin yogurt with the Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal is like having your own cup of pumpkin pie. And the Charleston Chocolate...it is so good it's naughty!
My wife and I just read the other reviews, and we agree. There are a lot frozen yogurt and ice cream places in Charleston now, so we imagine there is more competition. Not really sure there is any competition for Sweet CeCe's. Can't add much to this review; but, just try it. You will see - its very different, and you do get a lot for your money which is important to my wife and me. We like it.
So glad to see it listed in City Paper! It's kind of new in Charleston, and my family and I love it. We go all the time to Sweet CeCe's, and have never been disappointed. Great flavors, amazing atmosphere, and its just a fun place to be. It's next to Bubba Gumps sort of. The Charleston flavors are great by the way - French Quarter Praline is totally addictive.
My wife and I have been to this place 3 times in the last 6 weeks. The food was really good. The prices for downtown cannot be beat for the amount of food you get. The only problem we have had is with getting the waitress to refill the water glass. In the 3 visits we made they never refilled the glasses. I will continue to visit this restaurant for the food and hope I can get the waitress to step up the level of service.
Zoe, aren't you the same idiot who complained they did not appreciate your dog at the Tattooed Moose? Why do you bring your pet to restaurants that are meant for humans? Can't get a date? Leave your mutt at home, try and enjoy a nice place to eat in Charleston, and stop boring us with your stupid comments that have nothing to do with the food or wait service at these places. If you are not the same stupid bitch that complained about Tattoed Moose, I apologize. You are a standout idiot.
I love going through the drive-thru at BBC, but the service inside the restaurant has been awful on the 3 occasions I've eaten there. I don't mind laid-back service, but in one visit, my waitress forgot multiple drinks, didn't put my order in at the same time as my dining companions', and wasn't at all apologetic. In an attempt to rush my food out, the kitchen delivered my "sautéed" fish almost entirely raw. To be fair, they did comp my meal - but I don't think I'll risk eating in, again.
I tried the Macintosh during Restaurant Week 2013 and thought everything was really well done. The Orange Ghost and Honey Badger cocktails were inventive without being precious, and the server was professional and enthusiastic. The portion sizes were surprisingly large for a 3/$30 menu. I had a beautiful carrot salad and the seasonal vegetable plate, which was even better the next day.
I really adore the food at this place; it's comforting and unpretentious but there's enough imagination in it to keep things interesting. It's true that the service isn't especially smooth, but it's never detracted from my experiences and the waitstaff is always, at least, pleasant. The vegetable stew is one of my favorite things to eat in Charleston.
Out of the ballpark! Sweet CeCe's is nothing like the other frozen yogurt places we've been to in Charleston. It's fro-yo on steroids! Staff was well trained, the place was spotless, the selection was huge, and the flavors were unbelievable. It tasted like rich ice cream; but, they said it was gluten free, and non-fat. We're definitely going back - loved it!!! VERY CHARLESTON!
My new favorite, recently discovered, take out spot! I order out and get the basil rolls, green papaya salad, and chicken curry - all are great! They have a nice dining room and one day I'll make plans to dine in.
North Charleston Film Society of Park Circle is in it's 3rd location these past 5 years and as soon as renovations are complete both oldies but goodies along with new drama, documentaries & comic shorts have graced the screen and pleased hundreds of theatre goers.... Sue and I are proud to be Members and when you pay your dues, POPCORN IS FREE AND FILMS are only 2 dollars to watch...... you MIGHT consider volunteering to make popcorn, take tickets as it is totally NON-PROFIT
This club SUCKS! I ended up going to the dive next door Big Guns! First of all, I had to explain my outfit to the stupid ass bouncers who said what I had on was not appropriate. (Deisel brand sneakers, Takeshy Italian jeans, an Armani jacket and a Ralph Lauren pull over, yeah over 400 dollars of apparel.) After my explanation and entering the club, I see everybody in outdated pleated Roundtree & York pants and antebellum Claiborne dress shirts with loafers that had rubber soles!! And that's just the start. I get there and everybody is standing on the floor NOT dancing, and the music was 90s rap remixed. I came there to dance, so I did. When I wanted a drink the dizzy, dyed blonds recognizes everybody but me! (and my friend and I were the only off-colored people there, so noticing us is like noticing a black furred rabbit in snow). I highly defend them for not recognizing me because of my skin tone, just poor service. After we get the drinks, which were decent, a fight breaks out and they let a guy who was blacked out back in the club! After that, I just left to BIG GUNS next door, and ENJOYED the rest of my night there.
I wouldn't go there ever again, even if I purchased JCPenny's brand pants.
Just like Will Huggins post above, we no longer patronize Cinnebarre since December 2012. They tried to tell us they would not accept our Groupon as they were no longer accepting them. The Groupon said this certificate never expires with the original $15 we paid for it. I absolutely refused to pay them an additional $15 and told them to take it up with their manager and Groupon. They literally chased us down in the foyer to discuss with us. Apalling. The "manager" claimed she would get in huge trouble if we didn't pay the $15 in cash. Sorry, not my problem.
The service has been going downhill, servers are hard to find for another round of drinks, and food has been coming out cold and wrong too many times. We are done.
It would appear all of these reviews were written awhile ago right within the first few months of opening. I have to say Hom is now my favorite burger place in town. Not only that, it is now rocking the best brunch in Charleston. The burgers may seem smaller than average but they are packed with great ingredients that are rich in flavor and super filling. For those who shy away from beef, they offer a whole range of veggie options and an skewer of mini chicken sammies. They have the best shoestring fries and their smoked onion remoulade is orgasmic.
Their brunch includes burger benedicts and duck hash but by far the best dish is their Fried Chicken BLT. Served on Texas toast with fried chicken thigh, its the most delicious chicken sandwich in town.
Just a sad little hole in the wall... fighting is allowed even if its man on woman. Strip-mall hick bar. Zero rules.
It's sad that one bartender ruins moe's for me... The young one with light brown hair? So rude. She handed me a pbr without me ever ordering one and was so mean around 1 30... Of course I want to be out by last call but you don't need to be so rude about it. Terrible, I never want to go back. Too bad!
You'll see a wide variety of films here. Wierd, amazing and most interesting locally produces shoestring budget independent stuff. You can make a movie for 5 thousand bucks now and often that's better than some of what the studios grind out. You'll never know if you don't come to the show.
My favorite burger place in town! Go for the "Spicy Southerner" YUM
I have celiac disease and I still eat here occasionally. That should tell you something.
