Excellent beer selections accompanied by wonderful food. My wife had the lamb burgers and iceberg wedge salad, while I had the red curry shrimp skewers and a flatbread. I look forward to their full menu being in service. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys quality beer.

Nice cozy small bar with amazing beer selection. The bartender was very knowledgeable and was able to recommend beers spot on. We had the lamb burgers for an app. They were great, cooked to perfect medium rare, with a great flavor. After that we ordered the Santa Fe Flat bread and the California Burger. Those too were excellent. I must say that the bread they use for their burgers is one of my favorite things. I will definitely be coming back soon for some more.

The Hippiest, Hottest spot on Folly Beach. You can come enjoy/discover the hidden talents among us. Sit back, chillax, great food and drinks at affordable rates. Great young rising talents such as the infamous M.A.C.kenz! Comfy atmosphere where everyone's at home. The "Spot" on the beach that will top all in the Chucktown area for years to come! I not only work there most of my time, I party, chill, and enjoy everyone, and everything that goes on there. We're here for the long haul! Gotta check us out! 123 W Ashley Ave Folly Beach. Just enough off the beaten path to actually enjoy the subdude beach atmosphere!

I know people have already called out the reviews here as being BS - probably coming from staff or friends of the bar - noting that one bad review is followed by two 5 star reviews. Ultimately, it doesn't really matter much. I doubt many people use the star rankings on the City Paper online to decide where they're going to eat or hang out, but it's still annoying as hell.

Here are some 5 star reviews all by different user names that are incredibly similar (notice the over use of ........ and incomplete sentences):

samiie - absolutely the place to be in summerville ........would drive from greenville for brunch

thetruth - WOW to take a historic building and make it a cool bar .......go MONTREUX.....

summerville - Exposed brick w/hardwood floors throughout.... live music & plasma tv's ......good heavy bar food thats well priced. hmmmmm summerville needed this place bad

jack&sarah - lol i have to go to montreux now ....why there are soo many reviews on a place in summerville....it must be worth the trip .......

You all need to try their dinner and lunch specials. They are to die for. They have a new cheese, fruit and pate plate that is delicious. Their marmalade is also very good. They have a great wine selection to go along with the cheese plate. Try it you'll like it. They also have the best eat and peel shrimp anywhere.

Whoever is making all the bad comments are simply creating new email accounts and bad mouthing a business for a personal reason. Don't you have anything better to do?
I have been to Montreux at least 3 times a week. The place is awesome. The food is very good, the bartenders are very friendly and the wait staff is great. The music is the best anywhere. From Trivia to ladies night to all the live music you can't beat this place. I am not an owner or employee. I just hate seeing such a great place be bashed for no reason. Summerville is very, very lucky to have a place like this. For all the people how have read the unnecessary bad comments you need to remember Montreux Bar and Grill was voted in the peoples choice awards at THE BEST BAR AND HANGOUT.

This place may rock on the weekends but it does nothing for you during the week. Had some dinner there with friends not to long ago. The food was so so, the cook must be sleep walking thru his/her cooking and the mixed drinks seem to be watered down. New inexperienced bar person I guess. Anyway I think there are a couple of other places in Summerville I would rather go to if I lived out there. Maybe thats the difference before Summerville and Charleston. Charleston folk expect the best and I guess if the best in Summerville is Montreux then the clientel is settleing for less than best, actually less the good. Must be a hick kind of thing.

I've only been here twice & both times were to see Ellen Drive play in the back area. Typical bar atmosphere/service & the place was packed! I'd like to try their brunch sometime - wish I lived a little bit closer :)

The "Roof" and "Lady 29" keep posting to this page. One would think they are intentionally posting 5 stars to keep the rating up. I have heard good and bad about this place but now it seems to be getting personal. Are the staff or owners auditing the remarks then put up their own to off set any negative comments? If you follow the posts, there seems to be a pattern to them. One negative post automatically get two positive comments thus driving up the star rating. Just based on that I give this place a pass over. If it is that good, why does it seem like personal issues are been aired, wouldn't the place stand on its own. Obviously someone thinks they need to manipulate the numbers.

Went to Montreux friday night. This place was rocking. Has to decide which band was better, the one in back or the one up front. I had the Montreux Wrap. It was owesome. Am going back tonight. That how much fun I had.

Most definetly sounds like staff to me also. The last time I checked I lived in the United States of America where all citizens are entitled to their opinion. Don't tell this person HOW DARE HE, he can post his opinion on the internet if he wants!!!! Which by the way, when this place was McGuires it was awful, just because you change the name and gussie up the place doesn't mean the place is any better. McGuires...Montreux it is still pretty awful. They still serve drunks, they don't cut them off,the staff at one time showed improvement but they are back to ignoring you, texting or talking on their c phones or posting comments on this page about how wonderful Montreux is. What a SHAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with previous review. If you had a problem with your food, you should have told the manager and they probably would have fixed the problem right away. Instead, you waited to tell everyone on the internet about. It is in very poor taste. How dare you complain about something that you didn't even give someone a chance to make right.

I also live on James Island and went to Montreux with some friends who had heard it was worth the trip. I don't think its worth the trip. We were at the bar and the food was so so. Not worth the money they charged for it. The comments posted by "Roof" sounded a little too close to home. It sounds like an employee or owner trying to discredit other peoples opinion if their opinion is glowing with wonderful things about this place. Prehaps they should look up the word OPINION in the dictionary. You know the old saying....If you cannot take the heat, get out of the kitchen. I will not return to even try this place a 2nd time nor will I recommend it to anyone else.
