Great food! Typical decor but that doesn't matter to me - it's all about the food. I love the gyros and my son LOVES the seasoning on the french fries. I have yet to be disappointed by anything. Worth the drive.
Just got back from OPA Cafe. They have the best Gyros and homemade tzatiki in the tri-county area! The Greek Salad is to die for! The Greek meatballs and Leg of Lamb is so fresh. We eat there twice a week. I know the location is not the best but it's the food that matters not the location or how its decorated. I love to listen to the Greek music as we eat.
Great pizza and great service!
Best Gyro's I've had!! Can't bring myself to try anything else because they are too good.
Great eggplant with greek potatoes!! Also good calamari rings...yummy!!
Great little place to eat. Kids were worn out from the trip from Spartanburg and being really ornery and the guy who greeted us at the door cheered them up nicely. You get plenty for your money too. I like the combination of cosmo chic and rustic charm. It's cool that they have the gyro spinning on the spit and the chickens cooking right there in the window. My wife had the salmon and I had the mahi. Both were really succulent and seasoned nicely. Kids had chicken fingers and fries. It's not economy priced stuff but you get a good amount for what you pay and it's much more affordable than most of the tourist spots that offer only deep-fried crap.
Great comeback for old towne. We ate there for lunch Friday. Don't let the new look fool you the food's still the same. If you want fussy stuck up dining this isn't the place for you there's no air of superiority like a lot of places on E Bay and Meeting. Just sit down and enjoy the atmosphere and watch the staff do their thing.
i havent eaten here but we did have a nice experience yesterday and i wanted to share it with someone we were waiting for the trolley car to come by with our son and it was hot as the dickens outside. our son has downs and he can be a handful at times. the man who works in old town must have seen us sitting there on the bench and he brought out a cup of ice water for my son. he offered us to stand inside the little waiting area to cool off until the trolley arrived it sure is nice to see some courtesy these days. i didnt think to ask his name he spoke with a southern twang. thanks so much for having some compassion!
I'm from Chicago and I haven't had a good Gyro in years until this place opened up. It's kind of hard to find, but when you do, it is definitely worth it. The moussaka and spanakopita are excellent as well.
Best place to eat when downtowne shopping.
I will be going back for more Greek Chicken,Gyros and those great salads. The same family has operated that place for 40 years-thats amazing!! GOOD JOB,OLD TOWNE
Re: “The Continental Corner”
People here are ridiculous. North Towne is crap. Its not even run by Greeks, its not authentic food. They were good, back in 2000-2002, but they are horrible now. They are the Captain D's of Greek Food. Continental Corner is humble and feels like a little slice of Greece dropped in Summerville. The food is fresh and delicious. I haven't been to Opa Cafe, but they are certainly measures above North Towne and the Olympik Restaurant.
