Thanks for the warning. I just don't have time, or money, to waste on some place that is full of themselves. Too many nice bars in town to bother with this one.
Bugbee Plantation was a land grant given to John Seabrook in 1694
It was not spelled Bugey
Fantastic venue for theatre. Beautiful facility with free parking right in front of the theatre and Midtown Productions ALWAYS puts on a quality production. Do yourself and your guests a favor and go see their current production of "End of the Rainbow."
Have been to Republic multiple times before but this was the worst experience and I will never go back to this establishment.
Won a VIP table on Instagram for this past Thursday. We arrived and the hostess brought us to our table - enjoyed our drinks throughout the night. When we were ready to leave, server brought us the tab (which is gratuity + taxes when you get "VIP treatment"). I specifically told the server that we would be paying in cash for the bill plus her tip. We ended up giving her at least $100 in cash (our check was for $51) but I wanted to add $20 to her tip so I told her to put that on my debit card. Little did I know that she would be charging me for the entire bill plus the $20.
When I called to complain about this, not only did I have to call 3-4 times before getting any real help, but the management just kept telling that my bank had placed a "hold" on the money and that was why my debit card charge was for $85! At no point has this "Hold" gone back onto my card (I was told it would go back on Monday). All the while, one manager spoke with our server, and our server told her that we all paid her separately in cash (not true, all the cash was left in the book) and she also told her manager that she knew one of us personally (also not true). I was never refunded any of my money and the manager on duty that I spoke with even had the nerve to say that they "comped us a bottle of liquor" insinuating I shouldn't really be complaining - keep in mind, this is part of what you win when you receive "VIP"... I just cannot believe this place. I've never had a worse customer service experience and I will never go back.
Enjoyed the tour on the farm a year ago. My son went on a field trip. The class had the chance to sample milk and cheese. All the kids got to pet and hold the animals. Learned some things about goats that I didn't know.
You don't need to know how to spell roooooo to know a bad one . ROFL grammar nazis crack me up.
The creamed honey was a gift. This honey is what I remember from the early 1960's. It is wonderful. Next step for me is to find out where to purchase and give to all our family members. Time to pay it forward--thank you!
Why do folks insist on taking their dogs out to bars and clubs? Do you think the animals actually KNOW where they are? It is a PET, not a DATE. If your life is so miserable and failing that you need a dog to give you some company in bars and clubs, and stores, then you need to reassess your existence and find some human friends. And, please, all you pet lovers, don't bother to chide me for my lack of caring for your canines. Pets have a place in our lives, and lots of other people who may want to frequent the same places maybe don't want your dog rubbing up against them, smelling up the place, and taking up valuable space meant for humans, not animals.
Any place that charges for mustard will not ever see my feet in their doorway. It will probably last a few months, and then go to the final resting place of sooooo many Folly Road establishments. They don't even try and repaint the sign areas in front of the buildings anymore. You can see the shadows of old sign letters on the front of the buildings.
Rex: Perhaps before you attempt to criticize a restaurant, it would be nice to either learn proper language skills and English writing skills, or possibly have someone with some education spell check and work check your posts. You appear to be an ignorant clod, which will also reflect on your opinions of an eatery.
They don't do the club scene anymore. They do live music on Friday and Saturday nights on the patio from 7-10pm. No cover. Also, they are dog friendly on the patio. Went last week and it was amazing.
Nice English. Did you mean that you rue the roux?
We stopped in for lunch after touring Drayton Hall on our vacation. We wanted to eat somewhere local with atmosphere instead of at a national food chain. The BLTs were delicious, as was the potato salad! The waitress/cook was very nice and friendly. Great place to go!
And Rex Eugene Bolin needs to learn how to spell "roux" and write properly before you criticize it!
The cook needs to learn to make a rue. The worst Gumbo I have ever had. I would never eat here again. I order a 2 glass of wine it was never sever. The Coffee I had at the end of the meal was old and burn. Can I say more.
Good people, Smokey is a veteran and runs a clean place! I always have a great time when I go! And I feel safe as a single woman in a bar. The food is so much better than your average bar food! It is always hot and fresh when served. I ordered the special on Sunday evening, OMG it was really good! The wait staff are always friendly and quick to make sure you have everything you need. Blues Jam nights are great, fantastic musicians and good fellowship! Thank you Smokey for providing a first rate venue!
Excellent and true to French cooking and ingredients. Worth the trip to this bistro.
Dellz is awesome. Mozzo is good. East Bay is below average. Momma Goldberg is shit.
The comments section in each link is valuable; it would be wise to read through them.
Stopped in for lunch the other day. The beer list is a bit pedestrian for the food they're serving. Nothing great or amazing, but also nothing terrible. Staff was friendly and helpful.
