I agree with a majority of these reviews. We're in Charleston, S O U T H C A R O L I N A. Not NY, not CA so get over yourself NV. I'm from New York and can say with absolute honesty that I've paid less for a cover and gotten more for my money every single time I'm up there. NV certainly does not live up to all the hype. It's by far one of the most pretentious places in all of Charleston and simply aims to bank on the tourism dollar that drives downtown and Market Street in particular. If you'd like a watered down drink and customer service that is the equivalent of being spat on all while forking out preposterous amounts of cash then by all means step right up. The very first time I visited NV they were doing drag shows once a month that drew a pretty large crowd. My friends and I thought it was fantastic and were excited to come back but it's only gone downhill fast since my first visit.
stop bagging on this place! we need places like Suede so that graffix T shirt wearing db's stay out of the other watering holes i like.
If you drive a tuner or a crotch rocket, like tribal armbands/frosted tips/ed hardy gear/VIP lounges, you'll lOVE Suede
Not Swanky......Ridiculous let me just say again. RIDICULOUS!!
This might be one of the bigger jokes in the Charleston area. Granted, the place has been updated nicely - and the dj is great - BUT, we arent in Vegas fellas. The rude doorman/bouncers with their ear pieces and tough guy attitudes is laughable. Pricey drinks and bartenders who make you feel lucky to get served doesn't last long here. Best was a fight in the parking lot at 2 AM. Mount Pleasant people! Take it to N Chuck!
I like the Pourhouse has music all week, but they never start on time. A lot more people would want to come out during the weekdays, but they know the show will start too late.
I do not know why people are complaining . NV is the place to be in Charleston where dance music is taking place. They have a beautiful rooftop area... and no matter where you are in the other major metro areas the service is about the same. Also the casinos are using the carafe method in Vegas and AC for those questioning it and when we ordered patron we had her pour the bottle in right in front of us. So whether its a Thursday...Friday ..Saturday or Sunday... NV dance lounge has always been a great time for my friends and I. Beautiful looking people and sophisticated atmosphere with dance music.
I would go if it was the real mixed martial arts thing
Up until recently I would have given the Pour House four stars. You have the best deck in Charleston. But the drink prices have increased enormously. King Street prices on Maybank Hwy? Did you think we were too drunk to notice? We weren't. Now we have to think about coming out. I do appreciate that you will now wipe off a dirty table instead of handing me the bar rag and the fact that you occasionally come around to collect empty bottles and plates does help to keep the flies away. $3 PBR $5 draft $6 liquor To quote Seth Meyers - "Really?"
Drag shows always entertaining. Sharing the dance floor with Top & 21 not so much.
What a joke. I felt like I instantly acquired herpes as soon as I walked in. The bouncers charge the ugly people more for a cover. Like the guy above me said, it's charleston. Not miami. Go away.
I went to NV last weekend and had a horrible experience! I googled the club to find a contact number and found all the the negative reviews, and boy they are certainly correct! A HORRIBLE club with awful treatment of customers. My advice to you, if you are looking for a good time, take you business elsewhere! I know that I will be in the future!
I wouldn't mind the prices because as has been mentioned here, if you have ever been to LA, Vegas, or NYC you should know what you are getting into. However, when I paid the money for VIP bottle service in Vegas, I was brought an actual BOTTLE of grey goose. At NV, I was brought a carafe that was filled with "patron". This was not patron. For $250, I was probably given cuervo, or maybe even pepe lopez, but I will never know because I didn't get the bottle. Seems like a scam, and since the VIP was EMPTY on a SATURDAY AT MIDNIGHT, people must be catching on. NV is a good idea, but the delivery is horrible.
Awful customer service! I went to NV and after talking with the girl at the front—who I wondered if was drunk herself—my girlfriend and I were assured that after paying our ridiculous $20 cover, we would be allowed to go upstairs, look for our friends, and if we could not find them, we would be refunded our cover if we were to return within a reasonable time; which she told us was 30 minutes to look for our friends.
After spending 15 minutes in the bar looking for our friends; we went down to the same girl that promised us earlier that we would be promised a refund of our cover; and inquired about our refund. She told us that we were out of luck and that we would not be refunded our cover. I offered to split the difference with her, which she could give us $10 and we would be on our way. She questioned why I was arguing with her about $10; I told her that we were not arguing with her about the money, but rather why we were being lied to. I was not belligerent, and was in no way disrespectful toward the cover girl. She then motioned toward the bouncer and without provocation or warning; and without being simply asked to leave; I was assaulted and thrown out of the bar and onto the concrete.
Don't go here if you want to have a good time! Crappy, awful service and a crappy experience!
I'm so excited about seeing the new Ménage à Trois Burlesque show! I've gotten a sneak peak and it looks absolutely FAN-tastic!!!
Me and My friends were in Charleston for a Bachlorette party this past weekend. We love Charleston for its Historic feel and natural beauty, being from south florida did not expect clubs or bars to be up to par. Ironically, to my surprise is excatly what our party found at Market Street Saloon. The bar itself wasnt big but the party this past saturday was incredible. The Dj Dj Miketech was awsome had us ladies dancing all night. The "saloon girls" were all friendly and even has us do shots/dance on top of their huge bar. Great Music, Great Dj, Great Bar...
Poor customer service, bouncers smell like they haven't showered in weeks, and sounds like it will be added to local military bases' list of banned establishments. Trailer trash staff needs to step it up A LOT if you want VIP clients. Catch a clue, NV: it's all about customer service no matter how the customers arrive dressed to impress.
I really like the Music Farm. I read one comment about the sound being bad. I totally disagree. I usually try to get to the front of the stage for photography but the last 2 shows I went to at the Farm I was behind the bar. The sound was loud enough, and was very clear, could understand all the vocals. I moved to Charleston from Milwaukee 2 years ago and occasionally went to a cub of equal size in Milwaukee called The Rave. The sound there was absolutely terrible. For a club the size of the Music Farm I give the club an "A" for the sound. The list of bands playing the Farm is very diverse. I have seen the New York Dolls, Unknown Hinson, Drivin' n' Cryin', Drive-By Truckers, and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals - all excellent shows.
THIS NIGHT HAS MOVED TO A NEW LOCATION...
Re: “Suede Supper Club”
Food was good service was horrible, the manager kept running around like a maniac turning the lights down so low I had to use my cell phone to see my food.
