What's all this NoMo business anyway? OH... are you are referring to the area AHWYCSHFATUTO ( After Huger Where You Can Score Herion From a Transvestite Under The Overpass) ? Geez I didn't realize the name had been so dramatically altered to NoMo, a little hipster pretentious but as long as there is more beer slated to be drunk up there I guess I can handle the switch.

Supposedly the place will be called "Egan's Oast", which I have to assume is a joke / working title. Regardless, good to see the Charleston beer scene expanding.

My comment sounds way bitchier than I intended. Naming this area is a total joke, but we love to see the name we like being used more and more. It's worth a high five every time!

When this "committee" who comes up with names for places decides to invite us to the table, maybe we'll stop pushing NoMo. I own a building up here and have a pretty loud platform for getting the word out, but we were never included in the "official" discussion.
We'll be painting a "Welcome to NoMo, home of the City Paper" on the side of our building one day and that will cement NoMo in the lexicon once and for all! It's a war people, and we think it should be named based on geography and ease of communication and not on some bullshit idea for what a place could potentially be in the distant future (ie. creative corridor).

North Morrison is just fine. Takes up a little more type space, but is familiar with locals, and easier to find for tourists. The area is still a little bit "hoody" but maybe the local gendarmes will patrol the area more often. All I can say is for the new bars and eateries to not keep much cash in the drawers, and make drops into the safe a regular habit. Most folks around here use plastic. And the wait staff needs to keep their tips stored some place other than their pockets. Just sayin'........

I hated the NoMo at first...but now I'm ok with it. Denver has a NoDo. And it's better than The Neck...which is what it was called a few years back. We can live with NoMo. Let's rally, folks!
