Re: “You either like video game violence and girl assassins or you don't

This film is amazing and will be one of the top films of 2010 .The film is fantastic ,disturbing and unique. No disrespect to the reviewer but this is not a film for A middle age women.

So yes I saw the film about a month ago -----You will laugh till you cry.

Re: “You either like video game violence and girl assassins or you don't

Having read the review more closely and realized that the author gave credit to the film's writer & director for plot points taken directly from the comic, it's obvious that she didn't read the comic either. Which is sad. It's only 9 issues, and the collection is easily available.

I'm glad great indie comics like this and awesome writers like Millar are getting attention from Hollywood, but it disheartens me when they get no credit for their work because people are ignorant of the source material.

I mean I'd love to give Walter Murphy & The Big Apple Band credit for "A Fifth of Beethoven" and all, but I feel sure somebody else wrote those melodies...

Re: “You either like video game violence and girl assassins or you don't

I don't know about complete carp, Bippy, but I can tell you the comics are fan-freakin-tastic. If the movie actually follows the plot, unlike Wanted (another Millar series), then the movie should be great.

Now, now, I like "video game violence and girl assassins" as much as the next geek, but this film sounds like complete carp.

Re: “The Runaways has plenty of grit and swoony excess

When I first saw that the lead characters were going to be played by Fanning and Stewart, I felt that the casting director may have been just trying to use their names for promotional reasons, and I was less than anxious to see the film. Your review has given me a new interest.

Re: “Valentine's Day dumps too many characters into one rom-com

There is only one reason to watch this movie. You only see it for a moment but when you see it, you know that someone that worked on that film gave a serious damn about something that was going on inside that film.

It is just a tiny, tiny, tiny thing but it makes the entire film bearable.

Also, this movie was several magnitudes better than most romantic comedies even without the one special moment of film geek candy.

So, can anyone tell me what the special little moment was? Probably not. Not many people watch a movie like I do.

Re: “Valentine's Day dumps too many characters into one rom-com

I decided not to see this movie on Valentine's Day because of all the bad reviews. Instead, I saved it for a $5 Tuesday at the Cinnebarre. "Valentine's Day" is actually an entertaining movie and it definitely lived up to all my expectations as the sappy chic flick comedy is was designed to be. There is something for everyone in this movie and it would have been perfect for my Valentine's evening (single again). I love the way the stories of the characters playfully intertwine. Ignore the bad reviews! Go see it with the girls! This is a fun movie and I will see it again! :)

Re: “Valentine's Day dumps too many characters into one rom-com

Love, Actually is a terrific movie that masterfully follows each subplot while intertwining them into a happily ever after ending. I agree that the rest you mentioned suck though. I'm still going to see Valentine's Day in the hopes that it will be more on par with Love, Actually and not Love, American Style.

The movie is entertaining. Natalie's character is a bit over the top.
