The “American Music Celebration” is an outdoor concert featuring performances from Mississippi soul/blues man Johnny Rawls (left) and his Southern Soul Revue, Curley Taylor (son of the legendary Jude Taylor, left) and his band Zydeco Trouble, Aussie harmonica and digeridoo player Harper (below) and heralded local string combo Bob Sachs & The Maniacs.

The event is sponsored by the Kiawah Island Accommodations Tax Committee and will take lave at Freshfields Village Green (Located at the entrance to Kiawah and Seabrook islands) from 1-7 p.m. on Sun. Oct. 7. Should be a hoot.

Thanks for the Web blurb for the American Music Celebration. It was an amazing day; great music; enthusiastic and aware audience. And we probably had the best weather of any event falling on the same day - clear, hot, sunny. More fun to come: 18th annual Southern Comfort Lowcountry Blues Bash, February 8-17, 2008. www.bluesbash.com Save your pennies and get your sleep.
