Zac Brown Band on Daniel Island

Tickets available for Oct. 10 concert

Georgia-based Americana-rock songwriter Zac Brown and his twangy groove-rock band have earned some major success in the last year. The six-piece returns to the Lowcountry in October behind an LP titled The Foundation — their Atlantic Records debut that hit the street last November.

Born and bred in the Peach State, Brown started out as an acoustic-based singer/songwriter, specializing in a dynamic finger-pickin', hand-thumpin' style on a nylon-stringed guitar. The Foundation debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and No. 3 on the Top Country Albums chart. The first single "Chicken Fried" peaked at No. 1 on the Hot Country chart. The recent single "Toes" climbed into the Top 20 on the Hot Country chart as well.

This summer, the band announced its biggest-ever headlining tour. Calling it the "Breaking Southern Ground Tour," they're set to perform at an array of clubs, amphitheaters, and arenas around the U.S. "It's kind of crazy how we can go to a place where no one's heard of us before and by the time we leave people are singing the songs," Brown says in a recent press release. "We've got a great following."

With Brown on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, the band's lineup features fiddler Jimmy De Martini, bassist John Driskell Hopkins, guitarist/organist Coy Bowles, organist/string player Clay Cook, and drummer Chris Fryar. The band is solid for Sat. Oct. 10 at the Family Circle Magazine Stadium on Daniel Island (161 Seven Farms Drive) with support sets from Gary Muldear, Nic Cowan, Levi Lowrey, and Sonia Leigh. Show time is 7 p.m. Advance tickets are available for $26 (reserved) and $21 (general admission) via, by phone at (800) 745-3000, local Publix outlets, and at the Family Circle Tennis Center ticket office.
