For high-end swimwear, Everything But Water is a great place to go. They carry L*Space, Michael Kors, Trina Turk, Nanette Lepore, and Becca, and they pride themselves on giving you a luxury shopping experience thanks to a staff that dispenses great styling advice.

Conveniently located on King Street, Las Olas is a surf shop with selections for girls and guys, including L*Space and Volcom.

McKevlin's Surf Shop

McKevlin's offers plenty of surf and skate wear for you to choose from. This Folly Beach mainstay is also a great place to rent a bodyboard or surfboard. The rate for bodyboard rental is $5 per hour and $20 for 24 hours. Surfboards can be rented for $7 an hour, $30 for 24 hours, and $75 per week. If you stop by McKevlin's to rent, make sure you're at least 18 and have a driver's license and a credit card.

Rogue Wave Surf Shop

Rogue Wave Surf Shop specializes in new and vintage surfboards, clothes, skateboards, and accessories. They stock limited amounts of one-of-a-kind clothing and sell handmade artifacts from imogene + willie, W Durable Goods, and Apolis Denim. They also sell shirts, pants, shorts, surfboards, books, skate gear, women's wear, flasks, pens, bags, and grooming products to keep the sun and salt from working their wicked ways on your hair and skin. Having closed their Spring Street store, they're currently scouting new locations in Mt. Pleasant for a fall re-opening.

Air & Earth

Air & Earth is the go-to place for Charleston kiteboarders and the home of the Palm Board, which was designed specifically for the Lowcountry's less-than-stellar waves. They also offer a selection of surfboards, paddle boards, skim boards, body boards, and skateboards for rent. And if you don't know how to skate, surf, body board, or kite board, the good folks at Air & Earth have plenty of classes to school you.

Parrot Surf and Skate has one of the Southeast's largest arsenals of surfboards, boardshorts, accessories, and wetsuits, a store specialty. They also rent stand-up paddleboards. Their vast array of wetsuits features products from O'Neill, Rip Curl, Quiksilver, and Billabong.
