Who would’ve known that one of the best New Year’s Eve hotspots would be an old Navy veteran. Brightside Entertainment hosts the “East Coast’s Only Aircraft Carrier Ball Drop” on the Yorktown for the second year with some help from Sticky Fingers Catering. “Last year went really well with barely any hiccups, and we received great reviews,” says a Brightside representative. “This year we have better food, tons of music, and more surprises at midnight.” The three stages will have a variety of music from the likes of Stop Light Observations, High Society, and Sleeping Booty, and three different DJs so you’ll be able to shake it inside the plane hangar too. Tickets include an open bar and light hors d’oeuvres ranging from smoked wings, sausage and cheese kabobs, mini cupcakes, and cake pops. Last year, tickets sold out two weeks before NYE so make sure you’re starting 2014 right and not stuck at home watching the ball drop.
