The five-star resort and dining room at Woodlands has undergone some changes in the last couple years. First, local Johnny Linton purchased the property from Salamander Hospitality, hired a new executive chef who didn't last very long, and finally transferred ownership back to Salamander last January. Through it all, the upscale dining room managed to maintain its focus as well as its five stars, and it remains the only five-star restaurant in the state. Now that Salamander is back in charge, you can expect more of the same: impeccable high-end food, wine, and accommodations. We continue to wait for news that they've hired a new executive chef. In the meantime, Jonathan Kaldas manages the culinary team as Chef de Partie. —Stephanie Barna, Dish (Summer 2012)
