There are plenty of iconic artistic images of women by men, like Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa or Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe. But it’s about dang time we see some women done by other women (besides self portraits of Frida Kahlo).
For Robert Lange Studios’ November show, the gallery will display art from Karen Ann Myers, Sanna Tomac, Elisa Rossi, and, oh, about 36 others. The gallery has brought together female artists from around the world for what they’re calling their most ambitious show to date, Women Painting Women. As part of the Charleston Fine Art Dealers Association’s Fine Art Annual, each will display one or two original works highlighting the female form. —Susan Cohen
