People all over the world have dreamed of taking a tour of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. Who wouldn’t want to be surrounded by flowing streams of chocolate and walls that taste like strawberries and snozzberries? (I personally wouldn’t leave that cool bubble room). A group of lucky dance students at the Charleston Ballet Theatre will live out that dream as CBT finishes off this year’s children’s series with a production of
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The selected dance students range from ages 9 to 17. Principal dancer Jonathan Tabbert will star as the somewhat weird but always beloved Willy Wonka. And of course, what’s Willy Wonka without those orange Oompa-Loompas? They’ll be along for the ride, trying to teach greedy and selfish children a lesson or two. The show also includes a wacky soundtrack and more.
