American Classic (Blue Note) — his first collection of classic pop standards since his 1978 album
Stardust. The "red-headed stranger" may be best known for his outlaw-country style, but
American Classic features a roster of notable guest jazz artists — including Christian McBride on bass, Joe Sample on piano, and Lewis Nash on drums, and vocalists Norah Jones and Diana Krall. See
