Weekend Round-Up: Post-Holiday Partying

The best events in Charleston July 5-7

Thursday Let's just get this over with. Here's the firework roundup. There's also a drag show at Pantheon, a shindig at the Tin Roof, a harbor cruise for a little mix of water and fire, and a party at the aquarium. And that's only a summary of it. You'll find something to do, and it'll be epic — just like America.

Friday Perhaps you didn’t get enough brew the night before? Have no worries since Westbrook Brewing is opening their brewery for beer tastings and tours. Drink your favorite local brews and try some new brews in the tasting room. Then, take a quick tour to see how they’re made.

If you’re looking for something action packed, grab your vuvuzela and head over to Blackbaud Stadium to cheer on the Charleston Battery as they take on Orlando City, and there'll be more fireworks just in case you missed them yesterday.

It’s the first Friday of the month so that means Broad Street is inviting you to take a stroll down Gallery Row. First Friday also means Rocky Horror Picture Show at Cinebarre. Put on your best feather boa and party it up with the cast in the interactive showing.

Saturday Needing even more alcohol in your system even after the holiday and beer tastings? No fear, its Sippin’ Saturday. Enjoy tastings in the Firefly Distillery and the Irvin-House Vinyard winery. This week we hear you may get a special sample of one of a new moonshine flavor.

Family time can be spent at the Charleston Museum at the Civil War Fashion Try-on Event. Discover what it was like in the mid-19th century by wearing the garments common at the time of the Civil War.

After you take a walk around the museum, you can take a stroll through the Charleston Farmers Market. This week there will be some great activities and live music by Yee Haw Junction. If you happen to be on the other side of town you won’t be left out because there’s a farmers market at the Mt. Pleasant Towne Centre too.

You could also go to the Magnolia History Fair to see how history surrounds us.

Have a hole in your heart that only a new furry friend could fill? Pet Helpers is having their monthly Adot-a-Thon this Saturday at the Yuppie Puppy. It’s free to take a look at the cuties so make sure to check it out.

Sunday  Due to your exhaustingly exciting weekend you’re going to need some time to calm down. For an intense calm down session go to the Charleston Zen Center for Buddhist Meditation Practice. Or laugh it out at the Big Gun Comedy show.
