Weekend Round-Up: Peace out 2013

The best events in Charleston Dec. 27-29

This is your last weekend to party like it's 2013, so live it up. Friday Hear some local comedians perform their jokes at Theatre 99's Homegrown Stand-Up. In the mood for a play? PURE Theatre presents Penelope, a modern take on They Odyssey. But if you want some music with your theater, check out Woolfe Street Playhouse and The Girl Singer. If the grinch stole your Christmas, steal it back and hit up James Island County Park's Festival of Lights. Saturday See grown men throw down the gauntlet — on the ice, of course — at a Stingrays' game. Get your Justin Timberlake on and head to the Suit and Tie party at Basico. Christmas may be over, but we've still got some celebrating to do, like for Kwanzaa. Oh sip, Sippin' Saturdays is still going on. Drink some wine and listen to live music at Irvin-House Vineyards. Metal heads, get pumped. Childrens Choir is performing a free concert at Rehab Bar and Grill. Celebrate the second anniversary of the Royal American at its Fancy as F*ck party. Three bands and chili? Hell yea. Sunday Jam out on the deck at the Pour House to two sets of Phish for Sunday Phundays. If the comics alone don't entice you to head to Tin Roof's Open Comedy Night, sometimes they have free pizza. Jokes and cheese, what more could one want?
