Weekend Round-up: Knockers, rockers, and a whole bunch of pumpkins

The best events in Charleston Oct. 12-14

Ok kids. All the Halloween stuff is really heating up now, so we hope you're ready to get scared, eat some candy, and maybe even drink a haunted beer or two.

Friday. Get lost for a while in West Farm's corn maze (or cheat and go through the kiddie maze). Go Goth for Halloween at Theater Marvelosa's Dead of the Night, or take a tour around Charleston's haunted bars at the Haunted Pub Crawl.

Saturday. Time to go green — check out the Green Fair at Marion Square. They're celebrating their 5th anniversary this year with a concert by the Pimps of Joytime tonight. Love books? Take your kids to the Reading on the Circle Festival in Park Circle, where they can snag some freebies and see a real fire truck. Or give the haunted houses (one for kids, one for adults) at St. Paul's Academy Halloween Extravaganza a try, and while you're there, see if you can master the rock wall. If you're feeling peppy, run the Avondale 5k Run and Walk for Special Kids. If last night's pub crawl didn't quite satisfy that drinking bone, head to Mt. P for the Rockers for Knockers pub crawl.

Sunday. It's Second Sundays on King again, and this week neve/hawk will be debuting their line of kiddie clothes at Worthwhile. If the fall weather holds out, this'll be the perfect day to swing by one of the many pumpkin patches — Boone Hall or Legare Farms are good places to start — to pick up this year's future jack o' lanterns and maybe pet a furry farm animal or two.
