Weekend Round-Up: First Friday, Second Sunday Calendar Miracle

The best events in Charleston Sept. 6-8

Short weeks can sometimes seem the longest. Let's celebrate that we made it through this four-day work week with a kick-ass weekend.

Friday Kick-off the weekend with Party at the Point. It's an '80s themed show that will be bodacious.

While you're in Mt. P, stick around for the Rocky Horror Picture Show at Cinebarre.

There's always First Fridays on Broad Street to add some sophistication to your weekend. And since you're getting arty, stop by the Robert Lange Studio for the opening reception of Painter Ali Cavanaugh's exhibit Odyssey.

Get you chi in line at the community yoga social and toast to your downward dog.

In the mood for a double ab workout? Head to Theatre 99 for the first round of the Charleston Comedy Festival's Stand-Up Competition. ()

Saturday Head north to the Save the Milkshakes Festival and Food Truck Rodeo. Then swing by Mt. P for the Meat Beer Fire LOCAL event and eat your second lunch while tasting the new Bearded Farmer saison.

Not a member of the Faculty Lounge? You should be. Then you can go to their decades party like this '70s party.

We hear there's a big SEC game this weekend. You may want to read this to find out where to watch it. Not a fan of the SEC, we have the other conferences covered as well.

John Duckworth has a new video installation that will only be showing for one night. Better not miss it.

Sunday A Second Sunday and First Friday in the same month? That's like a blue moon. We're going to take advantage of it.

While you're strolling King Street stop in some of the bars to cheer on your fave professional team. It's a football kind of weekend.

Or you can stop by the Fourth Annual OPEN Arts Expo to see what the art scene will have going on this season.
