Weekend Round-Up: Changing Seasons

The best events in Charleston Aug. 8-10

We’re a little bummed about how quickly this summer went by. Before we know it, the tourists that once flocked downtown will be replaced by hipster college students and frat boys in Southern Tide. But even though the season is changing, we’re still going to take advantage of the here and now. This weekend isn’t going to pass us by when there are Pride Week festivities still going on and you can be sure to find us at Charleston Mini-Wavefest.

Friday Start the weekend in downward dog and move it to tree position at Namaste Folly.

If you’re nostalgic for a different time check out art exhibit Tease It Out.

It’s never too early to teach children about their health and ways to stay active. Check out Monkey Joe’s Supports American Heart Association to learn more.

Watch the adventures of Tracy Turnblad unfold in Hairspray.

Brewed beer and food trucks make for the perfect night at Frothy Beard Tastings.

Saturday We always wanted to run away with the circus, but now we can relive that fantasy at Circus Sampler Aerial Class.

Drag queens, food trucks, and fun times can all be found at Charleston Pride Rally.

Take the kids to learn about Africa and all of the continents culture at The Charleston Museum: Family Fun Event-Around the World.

Dance and drink all night while rocking out to some good jams at Charleston Mini-Wavefest.

Sunday Wrap up all your pride week festivities at Drag Brunch.

Grab your baby stroller or dog leash for a stroll on King for Second Sunday.

Pizza, beer, and laughter? We’re all for that at Comedy and Crafting.

Watch the Lowcountry High Rollers whip it like Ellen Page in Roller Derby Home Team Season Opener.

Time to crown the most bodacious babe of all the Lowcountry land at Budweiser Bikini Bash Finals.

End your weekend on a high note at Hot Nights and Holy City Beer Dinner.
