Weekend Round-Up: A jam-packed Christmas weekend

The best events in Charleston, Dec. 24-26

Psych! I bet you thought you'd find a ton of stuff to do this holiday weekend. But there's not. Because it's freakin' Christmas. Of course nothing's going to be going on.

Except there are a few thing. And by few, I mean four.

On Friday night, why not pay a visit to the baby Jesus himself at Bethany United Methodist Church's live manger scene. You can just drive by, or park and walk up. Afterward, why not drive around and look for Christmas lights? Better do it now before they're taken down and packed away for another year.

A lot of people will say that the holidays are the most depressing time of the year (and I would probably be one of them). Get some laughs at the Holiday Weekend Comedy Show at the new Palmetto Comedy House in North Charleston. BIG MO Dixon, Travis Howze, and Dave Ugly will perform and Greg “Big Daddy” Patterson will emcee.

And if you've had enough of the family parties and need a real one to go to, try the Let It Snow Platinum Christmas Party at Halligan's. And there's a Boxing Day show benefiting My Sister's House on Sunday, with Sick Tyte, Click, M-Tank, Sleepy Eye Giant, and the Royal Tinfoil.

Or you can just go the movies like I am. You should also check out our list of restaurants serving Christmas dinner.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
