The days of
Twenty One and
You Bet Your Life are long over, but the quiz show tradition lives on, snarkily even, in Wait Wait ... Don’t Tell Me, National Public Radio’s news quiz show with a sense of humor. It’s usually recorded in Chicago, but Wait Wait’s coming to North Charleston for a special show. Hosted by Peter Sagal, three professional panelists compete against specially selected listeners, who get to call in and play games like the Listener Limerick Challenge and Who’s Carl This Time?, named after Carl Kasell, the show’s official judge. Typical panelists include funny smart people like Mo Rocca, Paula Poundstone, and usually a special celebrity guest (the bet in the office is it’ll be Joe Riley, but who really knows?). The show plays locally on Saturdays and Sundays on 89.3 FM.
