West Ashley record shop Monster Music & Movies (946 Orleans Road) will host a big in-store event this week. Monster’s monthly Vinyl Saturday, an all-day sale featuring new and used vinyl of all sizes and genres, is set for Saturday afternoon. Local indie band the Royal Tinfoil and veteran songwriter Mark Bryan are on the bill. The music starts at 2 p.m. The Royal Tinfoil’s singer/guitarists Lamont “Mackie” Boles and Lily Slay recently recorded and released a rascally/bluesy debut album titled Well Water Communion. They’ll perform a homecoming set at the Tin Roof later in the evening. Singer/guitarist Bryan is best known as a member of Hootie and the Blowfish and his roots-rock side project the Occasional Milkshake. Bryan formed the Chucktown Music Group to help up-and-coming songwriters and bands in the Carolina music scene compose, record, and promote their music. His latest solo effort is a full-length titled End of the Front. Both acts will have recordings available for purchase at the shop.
